Instructions for use
REWINDER wants to help you
Since April our main mission has been to preserve your health and minimize the effects of this prevention on the natural environment in which we live.
The year 2020 suddenly struck us with a serious global health crisis, we lost loved ones we could not fire and were deprived of liberty.
Thousands of tons of garbage would reach our seas if, in addition to taking care of our species, we did not worry about taking care of the survival of the rest and the natural environment in which we all live.
We do not know how long we will have to protect ourselves with a mask, therefore, and until freedom is returned to our facial identity, do not opt for disposable materials for single use, because only in Spain this would imply that more than 70 million masks daily single-use would end up in our oceans, accelerating the deterioration of these and the different ecosystems. Remember that our planet was already crying out for help, before COVID-19.
Each one of us is part of the solution, therefore, the future of each and everyone is in your hands. Choose to protect yourself, wear a mask and please make it a reusable mask.
Protect your health and secure your future
At Rewinder, a Spanish company with sustainable and social DNA, we thank you for taking care of yourself and taking care of us. REWINDER masks have been designed and manufactured under the philosophy of the circular economy.
When you buy a REWINDER mask, you are adding to our social commitment, for which we allocate part of the profit obtained to SOS Children’s Villages and Red Cross.
Committed to the core with the idea of avoiding single-use materials, you should know that apart from the above, by purchasing any of our reusable 100% natural cotton eco-bags, you will be planting a tree.
Our origin is located in some wonderful islands that stand out for their beaches and mountains and, we are totally committed to the idea that this will continue to be the case for a long time.
At Rewinder we are proud and grateful for all those who have trusted us, thanks to them millions of single-use masks have not polluted our planet. The Revolution of reinventing, reusing and saving our world has begun.
We are counting on you to build the present together.
Signed. Rewinder team
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE AND CONSERVATION
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. USE OF THE MASK
The use of a hygienic mask must be accompanied inescapably by the rest of the recommendations established by the Ministry of Health.
For the mask to be effective it must be used correctly, covering the nose, mouth and chin. Below is a guide to donning, using and doffing hygienic masks for adults and children.
IMPORTANT: the use of children’s masks, both their placement, their use, as well as their removal, must be supervised by a responsible adult. Masks are not a game item and should not be left in the hands of minors, due to the risk that their use may entail for purposes other than those for which they were designed, such as suffocation.
1.2 Putting on the mask
It is recommended to place the mask on bare skin (that is, without the presence of hair in contact with the user’s skin) and to respect the following steps:
Important: clean your hands before removing your mask from its protective packaging for the first time. Iron your mask before the first use, and after each wash, for 10 or 15 seconds, at 140º. If you have the Rewinder Light 5 or 10 seconds at low temperature. In both cases, it will serve to reactivate the hydrophobic molecules and their textile treatments. If in doubt, place a piece of cotton fabric between your mask and the iron.
Steps to apply the mask (may vary depending on the model):
1. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution before handling the mask. Take your mask out of the protective packaging.
2. Position the mask on the face in the case of the Rewinder Light, adapt the nasal fit, adjust the elastic to the desired size by knotting behind the ears or on the back of the head, making a loop. Excess rubber can be cut off.
3. Position the mask on the face, at the level of the nose and adjust the nasal adapter, in the case of other models with nasal adjustment. If your mask does not have a nasal adapter, position it on the nose, and bring the rubber bands towards the ears, so that it is attached.
4. Lower the lower part of the mask towards the chin. Check that the mask covers the nose, mouth and chin.
5. Verify that the mask is fitted correctly. For this, it is necessary to verify the seal and the absence of respiratory discomfort.
6. Once fitted, do not touch the mask with your hands. If the user needs to touch the mask, they must first wash their hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution. Repeat this operation, after having touched it.
These steps indicated in children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
Note: Please remember to adjust the elastic band using a small knot to shorten it, if necessary, to make it fit better for you. We advise you not to tighten the knot until you have verified that it is the size you need. Remember that we do not manufacture to measure and that they are standard sizes. In our FAQs you can find videos, tips and advice to adjust it perfectly according to the model you have.
1.3 Removing the mask
To avoid contamination when removing a mask, the following steps should be followed:
1. Remove protective gloves if you use them.
2. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.
3. Remove the mask without touching the front of the mask.
4. Do not mix it with clean clothes.
5. Isolate the mask until you are about to wash it.
6. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution after handling the used mask.
1.4 Washing and drying the mask
Contact between a dirty mask (to be washed) and clean clothing should be avoided. The person in charge of the wash must protect themselves to handle the dirty masks.
It is recommended to wash the mask at a temperature of 60 degrees (washing machine or by hand) with neutral soap or at 30 degrees (only by hand) in the case of the Rewinder Light. Remember that you can use bags of delicate washing available in our online store or similar that you already have.
Do not use liquid, or products that can degrade or damage the materials and reduce their protective capacity.
It is recommended that the mask be completely air dried. It should not be dried or sanitized with an oven, microwave or tumble dryer.
Both during drying and subsequent storage of the mask, environments in which the mask can be recontaminated should be avoided. Remember that you can also buy our bag for masks, also waterproof and antibacterial or any of our other models of small bags.
Once dry, it must be ironed at 140ºC for a period of 10-15 seconds to activate the antibacterial treatment. Remember that for the REWINDER LIGHT the recommendation is to iron it at a low temperature, with a piece of cotton fabric in the middle, between the iron and the mask, if in doubt, for 5 or 10 seconds.
WARNING: Do not iron directly if the mask has the printed logo or any other type of personalization. Use a piece of cotton fabric in the middle, between the mask and the iron.
2. REMOVAL OF THE MASK
If the instructions for use and conservation have not been followed, the number of washes that our mask can withstand may be less than indicated.
Remember that we fight against single-use materials, when the mask has stopped fulfilling its function, keep it in quarantine for 30 days after its last use, then deposit it in the container destined for textile. If you have a nasal adjustment, remove it before placing it in the corresponding container.
3. MAXIMUM CONTINUED USE DURATION
For safety and hygiene reasons, it is recommended not to use the mask for a time greater than 4 hours. If it becomes damp or deteriorates due to use, it is recommended to replace it with another. During the period of use, the mask can only be removed in accordance with the indicated instructions.
The mask should be washed every time it is used and should not be used if it is dirty or wet.
In the event that it is to be temporarily stored, contact with any surface that could contaminate it should be avoided. It must be isolated.
It should not be placed in a waiting position on the forehead or under the chin during and after use.
NOTICE: The Light and Rewinder30 models are treated with a cosmetic grade biocide to protect against silver chloride-based microbes and germs.
