Instructions and recommendations for the use of masks
REWINDER wants to help you
Since April 2020, our main mission has been to preserve your health and minimize the effects of this prevention on the natural environment in which we live.
The year 2020 suddenly hit us with a serious global health crisis, we lost loved ones whom we could not fire and we were deprived of liberty.
Thousands of tons of garbage would reach our seas if, in addition to caring for our species, we did not worry about caring for the survival of the rest and the natural environment in which we all live.
We do not know how long we will have to protect ourselves with a mask, therefore, and until freedom is restored to our facial identity, do not opt for single-use disposable materials, because in Spain alone this would imply that more than 70 million masks daily single use would end up in our oceans, accelerating the deterioration of these and of the different ecosystems. Remember that our planet was already crying out for help, before COVID-19.
Each one of us is part of the solution, therefore, the future of all of us is in your hands. Choose to protect yourself, wear a mask and please make it a reusable mask.
Protect your health and secure your future
At Rewinder, a Spanish company with sustainable and social DNA, we thank you for taking care of yourself and us. The REWINDER masks have been designed and made under the philosophy of the circular economy.
When you buy a REWINDER mask, you are joining our social commitment, for which we allocate part of the profit obtained to Aldeas Infantiles and the Red Cross.
Committed to the core with the idea of avoiding single-use materials, you should know that apart from the above, by purchasing any of our 100% natural cotton reusable eco-bags, you will be planting a tree.
Our origin is located in some wonderful islands that stand out for their beaches and mountains, and we are fully committed to the idea that this will continue to be the case for a long time.
At Rewinder we are proud and grateful for all those who have trusted us, thanks to them millions of single-use masks have not polluted our planet. The Revolution of reinvention, reuse and salvation of our world has begun.
We count on you to build the present together.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE AND CONSERVATION
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. USE OF THE MASK
1.1 General
The use of a hygienic mask must inevitably be accompanied by the rest of the recommendations established by the Ministry of Health.
For the mask to be effective, it must be used correctly, covering the nose, mouth and chin. We indicate below a guide for the placement, use and removal of hygienic masks for adults and children.
IMPORTANT: the use of children's masks, both their placement and use, as well as their removal, must be supervised by a responsible adult. Masks are not a game element and should not be left in the hands of minors, due to the risk that their use for purposes other than those for which they were designed may entail, such as suffocation.
1.2 Putting on the mask
It is recommended to place the mask on bare skin (that is, without the presence of hair in contact with the user's skin) and respect the following steps:
Important: sanitize your hands before removing your mask from the protective packaging for the first time. Iron your mask before the first use, and after each wash, for 10 or 15 seconds, at 140º. If you have the Rewinder Ligth model 5 or 10 seconds at low temperature. In both cases, it will serve to reactivate the water-repellent molecules and their textile treatments. If in doubt, place a piece of cotton fabric between your mask and the iron.
Steps for putting on the mask (may vary depending on the model):
1. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution before handling the mask. Take your mask out of the protective wrapper.
2. Position the mask on the face in the case of the Rewinder Light, adapt the nasal adjustment, adjust the rubber band to the desired size by tying behind the ears or in the back of the head, making a bow. Excess rubber can be cut.
3. Position the mask on the face, at the height of the nose and adjust the nasal adapter, in the case of the other models with nasal adjustment. If your mask does not have a nasal adapter, position it over your nose, and bring the rubber bands towards your ears, so that it stays in place.
4. Lower the lower part of the mask towards the chin. Check that the mask covers the nose, mouth and chin.
5. Check that the mask is placed correctly. For this it is necessary to verify the seal and the absence of respiratory discomfort.
6. Once adjusted, do not touch the mask with your hands. If the user needs to touch the mask, they must first wash their hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution. Repeat this operation, after having touched it.
These steps indicated in children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
Note: Please remember to adjust the elastic band using a small knot to shorten it, if necessary, to make it fit you better. We advise you not to tighten the knot until you have verified that it is the size you need. Remember that we do not manufacture to measure and that they are standard sizes. In our FAQs you can find videos, advice and tips to adjust it perfectly according to the model you have.
1.3 Removing the mask
To avoid contamination when removing a mask, the following steps should be followed:
1. Take off protective gloves if you use them.
2. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.
3. Remove the mask without touching the front of the mask.
4. Do not mix it with clean clothes.
5. Isolate the mask until you are ready to wash it.
6. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution after handling the used mask.
1.4 Washing and drying the mask
Contact between a dirty mask (to be washed) and clean clothing should be avoided. The person in charge of washing must protect themselves to handle dirty masks.
It is recommended to wash the mask at a temperature of 60 degrees (washing machine or by hand) with neutral soap or at 30 degrees (only by hand) in the case of the Rewinder Light. Remember that you can use delicate washing bags available in our online store or similar ones that you already have.
Bleach should not be used, nor products that can degrade or damage the materials and that reduce their protective capacity.
It is recommended that the mask be completely air dried. It should not be dried or sanitized in an oven, microwave or dryer.
Both during the drying and in the subsequent storage of the mask, environments in which the mask can be recontaminated must be avoided. Remember that you can also purchase our bag for masks, also water-repellent and antibacterial, or any of our other models of small bags.
Once dry, it must be ironed at 140ºC for a period of 10-15 seconds to activate the antibacterial treatment. Remember that for the REWINDER LIGHT the recommendation is to iron it at a low temperature, with a piece of cotton fabric in the middle, between the iron and the mask, if in doubt, for 5 or 10 seconds.
WARNING: Do not iron directly if the mask has a printed logo or any other type of customization. Use a piece of cotton fabric in the middle, between the mask and the iron.
2. REMOVAL OF THE MASK
If the instructions for use and conservation have not been followed, the number of washes that our mask resists may be less than indicated.
Remember that we fight against single-use materials, when the mask has stopped fulfilling its function, keep it in quarantine for 30 days after its last use, then deposit it in the container intended for textiles. If it has a nasal adjustment, remove it before depositing it in the corresponding container.
3. DURATION OF MAXIMUM CONTINUOUS USE
For safety and hygiene reasons, it is recommended not to use the mask for more than 8 hours. If it gets wet or deteriorates due to use, it is recommended to replace it with another. During the period of use, the mask can only be removed in accordance with the indicated instructions.
The mask should be washed after each use and should not be used if it is dirty or wet.
In the event that it is to be stored temporarily, contact with any surface that may contaminate it must be avoided. It must be isolated.
It should not be placed in a holding position on the forehead or under the chin during and after use.
